ON SUNDAY members played the mixed foursomes’ championship on a fine winter’s day in warm conditions.

As was expected, Clinton and Fiona Dowling retained the title although not without a serious challenge from son Blake and his partner Joan Wright. After a flying start, Clinton and Fiona faltered but held on to win with 122 gross, two shots clear.

Peter Steel and Joy Cartner recorded 104¼ to win the best net with Bill Kingston and Monica Madsen runners–up on 107. Roger and Cynthia Draper took out both approach shots, one in the hole, the other 0.23m away.

Paul and Tracy Bartlett, our Home Hardware sponsors, were again sincerely thanked and applauded for their continuing support of the year’s championship events. As usual members provided a delicious selection of snacks for after the game.
