Theodolite Creek loos set for $150k makeover
PUBLIC amenities at Woodgate Beach’s Theodolite Creek will be closed for up to six weeks while a revitalisation of the site is undertaken.
Bundaberg Regional Council divisional representative Councillor Tony Ricciardi said the work would involve a revamped toilet facility, replacement furniture in the shelter shed, fencing and some retaining wall and stabilisation work.
“We will also construct a pathway in the recreation area that will be disability friendly,” he said.
Cr Ricciardi said the Theodolite Creek area would still be available for access to fishermen and other users but the recreation area would be fenced off to enable the work to be undertaken.
“The current structures are looking a little dated and the total revamp of the toilet facilities, in particular, will more appropriately cater to public and disability access requirements.
“This is an extremely popular part of Woodgate Beach and council is pleased to deliver this work, which will be welcomed by local residents and visitors alike.”
A budget of $150,000 has been allocated to undertake the revitalisation work.
