Fun Run success

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion -

AT 2AM Sunday, when the rain was bucketing down, the wind was howling and the ocean was roaring, the Isis District State High School P&C executive was worried. But when Sunday dawned and the sun was came over the horizon on beautiful Woodgate Beach, we all breathed a sigh of relief. Who would have thought it would turn out to be such a perfect day for the second annual Park to Point Woodgate Beach Fun Run? Although numbers were down slightly, those who participated thoroughly enjoyed a delightful morning of fun and exercise to support the P&C’s major fundraiser. May I take this opportunity to thank everyone who entered the fun run and made it another successful day. Congratulations to Cordalba State School, which took out the largest group prize, and to all the other prize winners. To our sponsors – Woodgate Club, Bundaberg Regional Council, Keith Pitt MP, Stephen Bennett MP, Isis Mill, Woodgate Leisure Park, Bev Reynolds, Woodgate General Store, Serenity Cove, Officeworks, Personal Best Health and Fitness and Woodgate Pharmacy – a huge thank you for your support. To our dedicated band of volunteers (made up of parents, staff, students and community members) your help was invaluable. A special shout-out to the Woodgate First Responders for taking time out from their own activities to support the event. To the P&C itself – well done on another successful event. Thank you one and all. SANDRA WEBB President, Isis District State High School P&C Association
