Top rid­ers sad­dle up for pop­u­lar event

BUCKLE up and pre­pare to be en­ter­tained as this year’s Ap­ple Tree Creek Rodeo.

This year the rodeo prom­ises to be even big­ger and bet­ter, with the event at­tract­ing top rid­ers from across the coun­try.

From bar­rel races to bull rid­ers, there’s some­thing for ev­ery­one at the fam­i­lyfriendly event.

Rodeo sub-com­mit­tee chair Doug Schofield said it was not to be missed.

“You will see some of the top buck­ing stock in Aus­tralia and some of the top rid­ers,” he said.

“There will be three to four hours of non-stop ac­tion. “It’s a great fam­ily night.” Join­ing the lengthy list of elite rid­ers this year is renowned bull rider Brett Cross, sad­dle bronc rider Dale Bour­goure and Aus­tralian cham­pi­ons Shane Kenny and Shane Iker.

“The best of the best in Aus­tralia are com­ing,” Mr Schofield said.

“We get some­thing like 100–120 com­peti­tors.”

While the com­mit­tee has se­cured some spon­sors, Mr Schofield said they were look­ing for more.

“It’s a great venue. It’s great ex­po­sure for your busi­ness,” he said.
