Scooter riders learn
MORE than 30 locals turned up to learn about mobility scooters at a Mobility Scooter Safety Day held on Friday at the Isis Cultural Centre.
Hosted by Bundaberg Regional Council in conjunction with the Building Safer Communities Action Team, the event focused on community safety as well as the safety of operators of mobility scooters and other powered mobility devices.
Constable Josh Roberts shared his knowledge and tips on scooter road rules and responsibilities.
An occupational therapist covered safety tips and helpful hints on the various features of scooters.
Council community services portfolio spokeswoman Councillor Judy Peters said the information was essential to ensure the safety of the operator as well as that of the general community.
