Agony and ecstasy

Isis Town and Country - - OPINION - By JEAN WRIGHT

It’s winter and the sky is grey, the bills are mounting every day, when all I hear’s depressing news it’s time to go and buy some shoes. When I’m in the foulest mood and nothing goes the way it should, to ease the stress, I surf the net and shoe-shop on the internet. Stepping out in brand new shoes will banish the severest blues. I walk the town and keep discrete the agony of blistered feet. To suffer pain in feet constrained in too-tight shoes is most disdained by doctor and podiatrist, but I’m a fashion masochist. A girl in sinful, red stilettos will turn the head, as every man knows, but age dictates which styles to choose, I really should shun fetish shoes. I’ll never grow old gracefully nor dress refined and tastefully, I’ll wear my styles, and sassy shoes; bugger the critics and their views.
