Pulling right strings

Isis Town and Country - - LIFE -

MORE than 90 music students from Childers schools competed in the Maryborough Music Eisteddfod recently, with outstanding results.

The Childers State School string orchestra received first place in the primary school string orchestra section, and the Isis District State High School string orchestra was awarded second place in the high school string section.

Concert bands at both schools were highly commended in their respective sections.

Students also performed in trio, duet and solo sections.

Music teacher Kerryn Haasksma, along with private instrumental teachers Bev and Laurie Hanbury and school band teacher Andrew Little, said they were proud of all the students.
