THIS Tues­day an­other strong field con­tested the sin­gle sta­ble­ford com­pe­ti­tion, with the fine early spring weather of­fer­ing per­fect golf­ing con­di­tions.

The out­right win­ner for the day with 38 points was Barry Steinke, en­joy­ing a con­sis­tent round. Norm Plath then led A Di­vi­sion on 37 points from Col Den­nett (35) and Cyn­thia Draper (34), with Dave Robin­son claim­ing best nine on 20 points – his other nine not to be men­tioned.

Pop­u­lar win­ner in B Di­vi­sion was Mick Ryan with 37 points, from Ray Bur­rows (36) and Kev Den­ham (34), with Larry Per­shouse’s 20 points earn­ing him the best nine hole score. Bob Cochrane claimed the men’s ap­proach on 4 and13, while Joy Cart­ner did the same for the ladies.

Bob Cochrane again led the Chook Run win­ners with nett 30, fol­lowed by Mick Ryan (31), Larry Per­shouse and Vicki McAu­lay (32), Cyn­thia Draper and Norm Plath (33).

Next Tues­day is the sec­ond day of spring and we play a stroke ver­sus par com­pe­ti­tion which is also the first round of the Cooper Cup for 2014. See you there for the noon hit-off.
