Cattle mooove over

Isis Town and Country - - SPORT -

IN THE hills just outside Childers, towards Biggenden, on a patch of land, the usual four-legged residents have been asked to step aside on Sunday for round five of the Bundaberg Mountainbike Club XCO series.

Built by Andrew Cole during the past eight years on a cattle property, the track is sure to test every rider in each class.

While shorter than Cordalba, the track has fast-flowing sections, technical descents and an overall climb of 70m which will challenge even the fittest competitor.

In the expert men’s category, which will race over 6.5 laps of the 5km course, series leader Michael England is the favourite but will be chased by Toby Boylan and Brad Davis.

Davis was hanging on to England’s wheel in the last round, but a puncture stopped the pursuit and Davis will be out for revenge this time around.

The track is built on private land and is not open to the public.

To register for the event – registrations close Saturday afternoon – go to the club Facebook page.
