No power savings

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion -

I REFER to the removal of the carbon tax and the savings we will make on our electricity bills. Has anyone else noticed on their electricity bills that on the same day the carbon tax was removed, the tariff price of electricity went up? Yep, that’s right, the money we would have saved with the removal of the carbon tax has actually been negated by the price rise, so much in fact that the bill is actually dearer now even with the removal of the tax. We used about 95 hours less of electricity in the last quarter, and with the removal of the tax, our bill still rose by about $40. So much for the savings we were told we would get with the removal of the tax. Once again, the savings are given out by one body and ripped away by another, but I guess we can’t have the electricity company going without profits or pay rises, can we? I hope nobody was counting on that little extra money in their pockets. Pity we can’t get competition with the electricity in this area. Anybody know of a good place to buy candles and lanterns? STEVE FOSTER South Kolan
