Festival a taste of area

SOMETIMES I think we almost take for granted the pleasure of living in the salad bowl that is the Childers region.

It is only when we travel further afield that we find produce is not available from the front yard of a local grower.

In other towns, there is no small slot to throw in our gold coins, rather an EFTPOS machine waiting to take far more than pocket change from our plastic.

It was great to see growers and producers showcased and celebrated at the weekend Bundy Flavours Festival, allowing up to appreciate what we have available at our fingertips here in Childers and the wider region.

Mammino’s, Hill of Promise Winery and Vintner's Secret Vineyard represented Childers and looked to be very popular.

I really look forward to seeing even more next year.
