ON SATURDAY, the long overdue President versus Captain Teams’ match play occurred with a goodly number present on a fine afternoon.

The president’s team triumphed for the second successive year, winning by nine matches to six, with three matches squared. Well played team members!

Jeff Freeman was nearest the pin with his approach on 1 and 10, while pinshot winners on 4 and 13 were Damien Dowling and Chris Fitzsimons.

Mick Hickey defeated Kev Savage in their first-round Sebs’ match play, while Mark McAulay progressed at the expense of Roger Draper in their second-round clash. Remaining qualifiers, please check the noticeboard and arrange your next match with your opponent.

Larry Pershouse and Keith Rule are still waiting to see who they will play in their search for a victory in the final of the championship pairs’ match play.

This Saturday we play for the October monthly medals, our second last chance for 2014 – remember to bring a plate for an after-game snack.

A reminder: Monday being a public holiday, we are running an 18-hole single stableford b.b. and b. competition with hit-off at 12.30pm for the golfing addicts.
