TEN teams turned up for the Childers District Social Golf Club Annual PINK Ball day for Cancer.
The players were all issued with a PINK Ball per team and the totals of their PINK Ball games added to find the winners for the day. The best score from the teams was a very good 65, with that team being Marg Dennet, Col Dennet and Ray Burrows.
Col Dennet had a great day, also taking out the best individual score for the day with 63, winning the least putts with 26 and taking out the nearest the pin on the 4th/13th.
Second in the individual game was Rhonda Zahn with 67, while Vicky Wyeth on 68 took out third. The A Grade nearest the pin on the 1st/10th was won by Tracy Bartlett, the B Grade approach on the 1st/10th by Coralie Volgyesi.
The A Grade longest drive was won by Tracy Bartlett, the B Grade longest drive by Bill Long, and the combined nearest the pin on the 6th by Helen Ricciardi, the ladies’ nearest the pin on the 15th by Vicky Wyeth and the men’s approach on the 15th by Phil Luckett.
For a small social club we managed to raise more than $550 to help fight prostate cancer – a great effort by all the members.
I would like to thank the following businesses for their generous support in making this day successful:
Bucks Meats, Studio 64, IGA , Childers Arts Council, Drunk Bean, Home Hardware, Tru Value Hardware, Appliance Electronics, Foote’s Pharmacy, The Childers Hotel, Drummond Golf, Chris Fitzsimons Brekkie Club, Isis Interior Linings and the members who put so much work into the day to make it a success.
Thanks must also be given to the Isis Golf Club for the use of its facilities and a generous donation to the cause and also the Isis Veterans Golf Club for its equally generous donation.
Next week will be Mug Day. Teeing off at 7.30am and playing a stroke and putt game over the front nine. Those people who ordered hats, they are now available from Paul at $10 each. If you wish to order a hat, please let me know next week.
Have a great week and see you on Sunday.
