THE­WARM weather for the last day in Septem­ber at­tracted a large field for the sin­gle sta­ble­ford com­pe­ti­tion sub­sti­tuted for the pro­grammed stroke ver­sus par.

Three golfers recorded 39 points, with Col Den­net be­ing de­clared the out­right win­ner on a count­back from Nigel Radin and Bob Werne, Nigel be­com­ing the A Di­vi­sion win­ner and Bob the B Di­vi­sion win­ner.

Norm Plath on 38 was run­ner-up in A Di­vi­sion, with Adrian Martin on 23 points claim­ing the best nine hole score. In B Di­vi­sion, Vicki Wyeth was run­ner-up also on 38 points, with Vicki McAu­lay’s 22 points earn­ing her the best nine hole score.

Barry Steinke won the men’s ap­proach on 1 and 10, while Vicki McAu­lay won the women’s ap­proach on 4 and 13, a lit­tle closer to the hole.

Adrian Martin led the Chook Run win­ners with a net score of 28 (!), fol­lowed by Barry Steinke, Robyn Robin­son and Vicki McAu­lay (31), Vicki Wyeth and Bob Cochrane (32).

Next Tues­day we again play a sin­gle sta­ble­ford com­pe­ti­tion – see you there for the noon start.
