WOODGATE will spring into life this weekend for the Woodgate Arts in Spring.

The event will run from October 3–6 with a three-day curated exhibition in the community hall, Irish band Slainte performing in the park on Sunday, the Family Market Day on Monday and an open garden throughout the long weekend.

For the past few years, keen Woodgate gardeners like Ray Prince have been building up a tradition of open gardens and event organisers said 2014 would be no exception.

The gardens will be open from 10am–4pm on Saturday and Sunday, with entry a gold coin donation.

Woodgate’s Jack Cooper has already made a sign boasting more than 100 roses in his garden, while Barbara Mashall has offered to open her children’s fantasy garden in the caravan park.
