WHILE some local shooters will make the long trip to Warwick for this weekend’s State Pistol Championships, Greg Tennent will be confined to quarters.

Tennent is in recovery mode after surgery, but thankfully for the Buxton shooter he can focus on a full recovery.

“They told me they got everything so that’s always good,” Tennent said.

“You go through a process. It came up as a possibility so you find out everything you can do it about it.

“It means I’ll miss the next few shoots.”

Despite the recent surgery Tennent managed to finish third in A grade at the Queensland Smallbore Silhouette Championships.

The titles, which were hosted by Isis District Smallbore Rifle Club at Childers Range, attracted shooters from across south east Queensland to compete in the state target and silhouette events.

Tennent narrowly beat fellow Childers shooter Wayne Gartrell for third, behind Gympie duo Shannon Peters and Hayden Stey.
