CHILDERS SOCIAL

Isis Town and Country - - Sport -

A FINE morning saw 18 players take to the field for this event.

Most found the greens were a bit slow to start but as the sun dried them out they certainly became quicker.

The winner on countback was Chris Fitzsimons on 21 points and losing 2.4 off his handicap in the process.

Second also on 21 was Terry Smallman who managed to lose 1.9 and third was Marg Dennett on 20 points and losing 1.1 also on countback from Bob Fraser, Ken Albion and Mick Ryan.

The B grade Approach on the 10th was won by Mick Ryan, the B Grade Longest drive by Bob Fraser, the A grade Longest Drive by Terry Smallman, The Combined nearest the Pin on the 13th and also a new distance for the Golden Circle of 3.7m was Bill Kirchhof.

Diane Rowley won the Ladies Nearest the Pin on the 15th and Terry Smallman once again enters the winners list with the prize for the Men’s Nearest the Pin on the 15th.

Of course we won’t mention the player who managed to run over the box that holds the markers for the 7th/16th Approach will we Len?

Next week is supposed to be the Social Club carnival but to date very few have managed to get their names in for the event.

If we don’t have the numbers we will forgo the advertised event in favour of a simple two person Ambrose between the members of the Social Club over 18 holes with a barbecue after the game.

Those who haven’t registered for the game are asked to contact Paul on thatmosis@hotmail.com or on 0427 407 970 ASAP.

The members will also find a form for them to put their names and the names of their partners down for the Christmas Dinner to be held on December 14, 2014, at the Hervey Bay Golf course.

Cost per member for 18 holes of golf, a shared buggy and a traditional Christmas Dinner will be $22.50 a head. For Non Golfers wishing to partake of the Dinner alone the cost will be also $22.50 a head.

Have a great week and catch you on Sunday.
