RSL’s war poems silence assembly

Isis Town and Country - - News -

CORDALBA State School students listened in silence as RSL members shared poems at a special assembly on Monday morning.

The assembly was partly a practice run for Tuesday’s Remembrance Day ceremony at Cordalba cenotaph, as students had a final opportunity to rehearse their presentations.

RSL members David Barker, Glen Tancred, and Les and Daphne Summerfield attended the assembly, with Mr Barker compering proceedings.

Mr Barker shared two poems, before Mr Tancred rendered the room silent as he shared a tale reminding us to remember the horses and other animals that died by our Anzacs’ sides.

Mr and Mrs Summerfield handed each student a poppy to wear on their uniform.
