The secret of serene Woodgate is out now
“WITH a 16km stretch of some of the best beach in Australia, there is a lot that continues to attract people to Woodgate,” said Woodgate Beach Pacific Realty’s Graham White.
Raised in Woodgate himself, Graham has a definite love of the area that he believes more and more people are discovering based on the improving sales for the area at the moment.
“October and November are generally our fairly busy times as people come for holidays and want to stay based on the peace and serenity and that they have plenty of areas that are not crowded,” he said.
“Add to that we have beaches and swimming that is very safe for families because we are protected by Fraser Island.
“We have a really interesting mix of cheaper homes as well as striking Esplanade land and houses with a 350 metre walk to the beach – there are not many other places in Queensland that can say that.”
Ray White Woodgate Beach co-owner and sales manager Daniel Hunt agreed, and said sales had been very positive during the past three months.
“There has been an upsurge in buyer activity which suggests that the market is as strong as it has been for years,” Mr White said.
“There are plenty of visitors looking to buy, however there are also lots of locals that are prepared to jump onto a good buy.
“Holiday home investors are the largest demographic in investor market as the opportunity to buy, holiday let and use themselves is a strong factor in the market at present.
“There are also plenty of people looking to retire in several years that seek a suitable home to buy now then rent until they retire so they may purchase while the market is offering plenty of value for money.”
Asked what he felt stood out about Woodgate as a place to live and run a business, Mr Hunt said it was that it offered a real coastal lifestyle that was full of friendly, laid-back locals.
“Add to that it has some of Queensland’s best fishing both offshore and estuaries and lots of local fishermen are currently filling their boots with a variety of fish ranging from elbow slapping summer whiting to mackerel just offshore,” he said.
“Wildlife is also abundant with regular sightings of emus and kangaroos.
“Woodgate Beach is truly one of Queensland’s best kept secrets and is a fantastic place to run a business.”
