Contest displays skills of over-35s

Isis Town and Country - - Life -

BEFORE the Spring Cup swung into action, it was “those on the right side of 35” who took centre stage.

Isis Sugardaddies and Hervey Bay teamed up to take on Bundaberg Rumruckers in the over-35s “Lolly Cup”.

Great tries, wonderful tackles, amazing hands and tantalising footwork were on show as the elder statesmen of the rugby community showed off their footy skills.

A special mention has to go to the over-35 players who backed up their efforts on the field to take on refereeing and coaching during the main games, and cleaned up at the end.

The efforts of the volunteers was hugely appreciated by the Isis Crushers. While a result wasn’t recorded, all players are pumped for the Wide Bay over-35s carnival to be held in Childers on March 14, 2015.
