CHILDERS SOCIAL

DUE to the fact that over 300 golf clubs around Australia were having a bring a friend along day to promote the game more we also opted for the same, hence the Three Person Ambrose.

The winners today were Dave Durie, Arendina and Paul McCarragher with 29 points winning each a great bottle of wine.

Second were Rose and Bob Cochrane with Diane Rowley as their third player with 29.75 points.

Third were Bob Fraser, Chris Fitzsimons and Bob Champney with 31.

The B Grade Longest Drive was won by Ray Burrows, the A Grade Longest Drive by Bob Fraser, the B Grade Approach on the 10th by Chris Fitzsimons and last but not least the Men’s approach on the 15th to Bob Cochrane.

Next week we will play a simple Stoke and Putt game over the front nine.

The final numbers are in for the Christmas party, but a small window of opportunity still exists for those who haven’t made their minds up but will close on November 30.

If you want to come and enjoy the game and lunch please get in touch with a committee member ASAP.

A surprise this week was seeing Leigh Hart after suffering a heart attack last Sunday, although he acted as chauffeur for Diane and didn’t lift a club in anger.

Great to see you looking so well and hope you get back onto the course really soon.

Most members have seen the damage done to the course during last week’s storms and the litter lying around. If you have a few hours to spare and want something to do then don’t hesitate to come to the golf club and pick up some branches or litter to get us back to looking great, it will be greatly appreciated.

Well, have a great week and see you on Sunday.
