BE­FORE I took on the role at Isis Town & Coun­try, the only thing I knew about Childers was the fa­tal fire at the Palace Back­pack­ers Hos­tel in 2000.

Many peo­ple I’ve spo­ken to from other re­gions are in the same boat, rais­ing the ques­tion of whether or not our com­mu­nity is do­ing enough to mar­ket it­self.

De­clin­ing vis­i­tor num­bers should sound alarm bells, es­pe­cially given how much of our lo­cal in­dus­try de­pends on tourism.

How would you mar­ket Childers to vis­i­tors?
