How to market region?

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion - Matthew McInerney matthew.mcinerney@apn.com.au

BEFORE I took on the role at Isis Town & Country, the only thing I knew about Childers was the fatal fire at the Palace Backpackers Hostel in 2000.

Many people I’ve spoken to from other regions are in the same boat, raising the question of whether or not our community is doing enough to market itself.

Declining visitor numbers should sound alarm bells, especially given how much of our local industry depends on tourism.

How would you market Childers to visitors?
