Artistic quilts threaded with creative flair
Amazing quilting creations on display next month at Childers Arts Space
STATE of the Art 14 presents works from the Queensland Quilters Art Quilt group’s annual exhibition, which it has held for the past 60 years.
State of the Art 14 presents works from the group’s 2014 exhibition and will arrive at the Childers Arts Space on January 13.
The 2QAQ 2014 exhibition featured 20 works from its members, including two from Bundaberg Art Quilters members Ailsa Koloi and Sandra Sullivan.
Other quilters whose work features in State of the Art 14 have exhibited their work nationally and internationally, and have featured in textile art and quilting publications.
State of the Art 14’s presentation of art quilting will provide visitors to the exhibition with the opportunity to experience textile artworks that are very different to traditional quilts.
The fascination of these art quilts is in the way they break the rules of quilting as their creators paint, embellish and manipulate their fabrics.

Anyone wishing to share photographs or memorabilia associated with the festival can leave items at Bundaberg Regional Libraries in Bundaberg or Childers.
All items will be returned afterwards.
