QUEENS­LAND Fire and Emer­gency Ser­vices (QFES) is ask­ing res­i­dents to get ready for heavy rain­fall and thun­der­storms which are ex­pected to im­pact the state over the com­ing days. The Bureau of Me­te­o­rol­ogy (BoM) has ad­vised ar­eas along the east coast from Townsville to the New South Wales bor­der may be im­pacted by heavy rain­fall, thun­der­storm ac­tiv­ity, flash flood­ing and river­ine flood­ing dur­ing the next few days. Emer­gency Man­age­ment As­sis­tant Com­mis­sioner Steve Grant said res­i­dents should be aware of the risks and take steps to en­sure they are pre­pared for pro­longed se­vere weather.
