Isis Town and Country - - Opinion - By NANCE BURNETT

AGAIN my yearning thoughts unfold

And groping mind the years caress

When I, enslaved, your fair princess

Devoted to my knight so bold.

Despite black eyes that you dealt free:

The frequent battles fought for me –

My knight in armour, gleaming gold.

Ah yes, we were but eight years old!
