ROYALTIES for Regions has been Jeff Seeney’s main focus since his party gained power in 2012.
This will be Mr Seeney’s sixth campaign in the seat of Callide and the Deputy Premier says he is in a position to deliver.
“Being in government means I can deliver the infrastructure projects and government services my electorate needs,” he said.
Aside from infrastructure, improving health services was at the top of his list.
“We’ve made moves to improve health services by reducing wait times.
He said delivering a new police station for Murgon, securing $15 million in funding for the Monto-Mt Perry Rd and establishing the Royalties for Regions funding were highlights of his time in office.
“I represent country towns at the top level of the State Government and I understand what country people need from government,” he said.
“We have to fight hard to make sure we get our fair share.”
Mr Seeney has held the seat of Callide since 1998 but until 2012 was serving with a Labor government.
“In Opposition, trying to deal with these problems was frustrating, but it has been gratifying being able to fix those problems.”
