Fundrais­ing earns group award

Gin Gin Hos­pi­tal Aux­il­iary hon­oured dur­ing health ser­vice’s Aus­tralia Day cer­e­mony

GIN GIN Hos­pi­tal Aux­il­iary has been hon­oured for its tire­less work in the com­mu­nity.

The Wide Bay Hos­pi­tal and Health Ser­vice high­lighted the out­stand­ing ser­vice of staff mem­bers at an Aus­tralia Day Achieve­ment Awards cer­e­mony at Bund­aberg Hos­pi­tal.

Staff mem­bers nom­i­nated in­di­vid­u­als and fel­low staff who made a con­tri­bu­tion wor­thy of recog­ni­tion, with the win­ners cho­sen by the ex­ec­u­tive team.

The aux­il­iary’s fundrais­ing ef­forts, as well as its in­ter­nal and ex­ter­nal en­gage­ment, led to the group re­ceiv­ing awards.

“It’s a real hon­our to be able to hand th­ese awards to the staff in­volved and thank them for their con­tri­bu­tion,” WBHHS board chair­man Do­minic Devine said.

“The Aus­tralia Day Achieve­ment Awards recog­nise some of the out­stand­ing con­tri­bu­tions that in­di­vid­u­als and teams have made in the last year to pro­vid­ing high stan­dards of health care to our com­mu­nity and as­sist­ing their fel­low staff.

“Each and ev­ery day the WBHHS staff do an in­cred­i­ble job in pro­vid­ing the best health care to lo­cal pa­tients. Both our clin­i­cal and non-clin­i­cal staff should be proud of what they do to serve our lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties.”

Team win­ners in­cluded the surgery team, the oral health team and the depart­ment of emer­gency medicine.
