Fundraising earns group award
Gin Gin Hospital Auxiliary honoured during health service’s Australia Day ceremony
GIN GIN Hospital Auxiliary has been honoured for its tireless work in the community.
The Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service highlighted the outstanding service of staff members at an Australia Day Achievement Awards ceremony at Bundaberg Hospital.
Staff members nominated individuals and fellow staff who made a contribution worthy of recognition, with the winners chosen by the executive team.
The auxiliary’s fundraising efforts, as well as its internal and external engagement, led to the group receiving awards.
“It’s a real honour to be able to hand these awards to the staff involved and thank them for their contribution,” WBHHS board chairman Dominic Devine said.
“The Australia Day Achievement Awards recognise some of the outstanding contributions that individuals and teams have made in the last year to providing high standards of health care to our community and assisting their fellow staff.
“Each and every day the WBHHS staff do an incredible job in providing the best health care to local patients. Both our clinical and non-clinical staff should be proud of what they do to serve our local communities.”
Team winners included the surgery team, the oral health team and the department of emergency medicine.
