HAY­DEN Wag­ner was a wel­come vis­i­tor join­ing mem­bers for the sin­gle stable­ford com­pe­ti­tion on Satur­day.

John Hin­ton scored 39 points to win from Las­zlo Vol­gyesi on 37, with run­downs go­ing to Gary Car­lon on 36, Ken Al­bion, Roger Draper, Dave Robin­son and Clin­ton Dowl­ing all on 35 points. Nigel Radin won the best nine holes with 20 points.

Bren­dan Rock­ett won the pin­shot on 1 and 10 and Dave Robin­son on 4 and 13. Bob Champ­ney won the B-di­vi­sion ap­proach on 1 and 10.

This Satur­day we play for our first Monthly Medal of the year and it will as usual be highly com­pet­i­tive – please bring a plate for af­ter the game.


VAL Plath scored 38 stable­ford points to eas­ily win the com­pe­ti­tion on Satur­day from Robyn Robin­son on 34 points. Co­ralie Vol­gyesi won the best nine holes with 18 points and He­len Ricciardi the ap­proach on 4 and 13.

On Thurs­day mem­bers played a best nine holes stroke com­pe­ti­tion won by Vicki Wyeth with 38.5 nett.

This Thurs­day mem­bers play a sin­gle stable­ford best nine holes, while the fol­low­ing Thurs­day (Fe­bru­ary 12) mem­bers play for their first Thurs­day Monthly Goblet.

Thurs­day hit-off times for Fe­bru­ary will be 8am.

This Satur­day we play for our first Satur­day Monthly Goblet – please re­mem­ber to bring a plate for af­ter the game. VETS A HEALTHY num­ber ar­rived for the sin­gle stable­ford com­pe­ti­tion on a cloudy but cooler af­ter­noon much en­joyed by all play­ers.

Neil Rieck scored 41 points to be the over­all win­ner. Larry Per­shouse won A-di­vi­sion with 38 points from run­ner-up Dave Robin­son on 37, with Kev Sav­age 2nd run­ner-up on 36. Paul McCar­ragher won best nine holes.

Roger Draper won B-di­vi­sion with 37 points from Ray Bur­rowes on 36 and Len Stal­lard on 35. Bob Champ­ney won best nine holes.

Ap­proach for the men were won by Dave Robin­son and Nigel Radin, while Cyn­thia Draper and Vicki Wyeth won the ap­proaches for the women.

Chook Run win­ners were: Neil Rieck (28 nett), Jack Smith (30), Rae McCliskie (31), Kev Sav­age (32), Michael Stan­ton and Ray Bur­rowes (33).

Next week we play a four­ball best ball choose – see you there for the 12 hit-off. CHILDERS SO­CIAL TWENTY-two play­ers took the field to­day for our first Mug Day of the year. The weather luck­ily was kind and the tem­per­a­tures al­most bear­able.

The win­ner for the sec­ond week in a row was Di Rowley with 32 stokes and los­ing 3.0 off her hand­i­cap, sec­ond on a three way count­back was Bob Cochrane on 34 and los­ing 1.4, third was Peter Von Dolen also with 34 and los­ing 0.9 and the third per­son on 34 was Terry Smallman who un­for­tu­nately didn’t win a prize but made up for it by tak­ing out the Least Putts with 12.

Ed Con­nell took out the B-grade Ap­proach on the 1st with Bob Fraser tak­ing out the B-grade long­est Drive and the Com­bined near­est the Pin on the 4th. Chris Fitzsi­mons rounded out to­day’s win­ners by tak­ing out the prize for the Com­bined near­est the Pin on the 6th.

Af­ter the game the mem­bers par­took of a lunch of Corned Sil­ver­side and Pick­led Pork with all the sal­ads to be­fore a dis­cus­sion about the trip away was held to de­ter­mine whether or not it was a vi­able propo­si­tion. The mem­bers de­cided by a ma­jor­ity that the trip although a good idea was too ex­pen­sive for most so we de­cided that we should look for an al­ter­na­tive closer to home with the Cap­tain to let the mem­bers know what was avail­able and the costs in­volved.
