THE man himself reckons we shouldn’t read too much into it, but it is way too hard to go past Rod Jensen’s figures from the weekend.

Jensen smashed 46 as he steered the middle and lower order after Rhett Pope and Graeme Bartlett starred (more below).

Once Isis White’s 40 overs were finally up, the merciless squad had reached 9-297 – an impressive 7.425 runs per over.

Brothers White were cruising until Matthew Magner was dismissed for 16.

They collapsed, falling from 1-51 to all out for 75 as Bartlett and Jensen wreaked havoc.

Jensen finished with the fine figures of 4-6 from his four overs, while Bartlett took 4-10.

“They’re usually a father-son team but they were stacked with under-16s this week,” Jensen said.

“They have bowling restrictions and because some had already bowled in other games, they had to have a big rotation.”

The rotation strategy was implemented several seasons ago in response to junior pace bowlers suffering stress fractures and other injuries.

ON FIRE: Rod Jensen scored 46 and nabbed 4-6 with the ball, but he said we “couldn’t read too much” into his figures given the opposition.
