James Cameron’s Deep Sea Challenge
Sunday, SBS One, 8.30pm
Director James Cameron’s love of the water was probably one guiding factor that enticed him to make Titanic. But his love of the ocean goes deeper and darker than even that fateful ship could go and this fascinating documentary explores just that. With money hardly an option, Cameron and his crew built a submersible vehicle that, for the first time, allowed humans to visit the deepest part of the ocean. The technical difficulty in this task has been compared to that of landing a man on the moon. The project was years in the making and wasn’t without hiccups. A true example of what happens when you hold tight to your dreams.
