It’s ground quality, not crowd quantity

CHILDERS Showground may have an advantage given the open space and grandstand but it is the condition of the surface that could be the deal maker or breaker.

“We are fully aware of what grounds are like in Queensland,” O’Connor said.

“Player welfare is always at the forefront but there is usually enough time for grounds to be ready.

“Our players have changed under marquees – that’s not so much a big issue.”

Ground capacity is “not so much an issue” for QRL as the quality of the playing surface, which O’Connor said was vitally important.
