CHILDERS SOCIAL

Isis Town and Country - - Sport -

SUNDAY saw 24 players turn up for a Single Stableford game over the Front Nine.

The winner, dare I say it, was Len (I never win anything) Stallard who managed 22 points and for his trouble the handicapper, me, took great delight in docking him 3.1 points, just not enough to get him into A-grade, sorry Len but you will just have to try harder next time. Second on 21 was Ray Burrows who had a couple of bad holes to start but came back with a rush after that and managed to lose 2.2 off his handicap with a score of 21. Third was Bill long who always complains he has had a bad day but is always up there close to the winners and he lost a miserable 0.5 off his handicap for his score of 18.

Ray also managed to take out the B-grade Approach on the 1st and Bill Long took out the B-grade Longest Drive while the quiet achiever Peter Macauley won the A-grade Longest Drive. Leigh Hart won the Combined Nearest the Pin on the 6th and Domonic Mete won the Combined Nearest the Pin on the 4th but didn’t trouble the Golden Circle still held by Bob Cochrane on 1.17m

Big thanks to Mick Ryan and his lovely lady Roz for supplying and cooking of the dim sims for smoko, it was appreciated by all.

Next week will be an Odds and Evens game with the players playing only the odd numbered holes (1,11,3,13,5,15,7,17,9) and in a couple of weeks’ time even numbered holes (0,2,12,4,14,6,16,8,18). Special cards will be supplied for the day.

Have a great week and see you on Sunday.
