What about us?

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion -

I AM writing in response to last week’s letter in Town & Country (Takeaway offence, 19/2). As an owner of a small business – takeaway, post office, alcohol, and many other things – it is long, hard hours and seven days a week. I can’t see the harm in Hunger Busters selling coffee and tea when Drunk Bean is closed. Where is the Australian spirit? Jeffrey Behan named another takeaway place in Churchill St that sells hamburgers, tea, coffees and mentioned to check out his hamburger with the lot. He said it was the best within a 300km radius! What about the Buxton General Store? It is only 30km away. We have people from Childers that come down for our Buxton Burger, fish and chips, and famous milkshake. They come to Buxton to fish off the pontoon, barbecue at the park, the playground and toilets. This is my real name. Yvonne Mitchell Buxton General Store
