What is it with small Bri­tish vil­lages and mur­ders? From Agatha Christie to Tag­gart to In­spec­tor Morse too Broad­church and Mid­somer Mur­ders, an un­der­cur­rent of puree nas­ti­ness seems to run deep through the most quaint towns.wns. In this lat­est ven­ture, we are taken back to 1953 where vicar of Grantch­ester, Sid­ney Cham­bers (James Nor­ton), is trusted with his parish­ioners se­crets both big and bru­tal. When he learns the ap­par­ent sui­cide death of the town solic­i­tor could be some­one more sin­is­ter, he sets out to find the truth, much to the dis­ap­proval of de­tec­tive in­spec­tor Ge­ordie Keat­ing (Rob­son Green, right).). How­ever, they soon learn they need each other’s’s unique skills to get to the bot­tom of the mat­ter.
