THE SERVICE may have been shifted indoors due to poor weather but Woodgate Beach RSL Sub Branch president Malcolm Webb could not be happier.

He touched on the camaraderie between the troops, as well as the continued fight to ensure Vietnam veterans were recognised.

Mr Webb said he was relieved to see the memorial open after years of planning by the RSL.

Bundaberg mayor Mal Forman was joined by councillors Tony Ricciardi and Ross Sommerfield, while state member Stephen Bennett and federal member Keith Pitt also laid wreaths.
