THE cavalry has arrived.
Gin Gin SES Unit were ordered to cater for the arrival of a large group of emergency services personnel en route to Rockhampton.
The group came from as far south as Brisbane, and are on their way to relieve current volunteers in the worst-affected areas.
Gin Gin group controller Kellie Bolstad said the local unit could not venture north yet because the Burnett River at Duingal was still swollen.
There is a chance Gin Gin SES could be sent north if a second deployment is needed.
