Isis Green’s huge win sets up ideal finals run for cricket club

Isis Town and Country - - Sport -

ISIS Green secured second spot on the ladder with a comprehensive defeat of Burnett Heads.

Burnett Heads had been a bit of a bogie team for Isis throughout the season and had already beaten both teams this year.

After winning the toss and batting Isis Green put together several solid partnerships to reach a very satisfying 9-202 on quite a difficult pitch.

Lennon Childs held it all together with a superb 87 not out and was well supported by Zac Dann with 24 and Nic Lindsay with 23.

Isis Green then put in their best fielding and bowling performance of the year and routed Burnett Heads for 61 in 17.5 overs.

Lindsay set the tone picking up a wicket with the first ball of the inning, smashing the stumps in the process.

He and Jack Rowan took four wickets each with Darren Green picking up two.

Both Green and Rowan were on hat-tricks but missed out on the bowler’s dream.

Isis Green now meets ATWon Saturday for a spot in the final.
