Pharmacies going purple for a cause

Isis Town and Country - - News -

GIN GIN Pharmacy will go purple next Thursday for Purple Day for Epilepsy.

For the last four years, a Coral Coast Pharmacies store has taken out the number one spot in Queensland for the Purple Pharmacy Promotion.

Gin Gin is one of those stores, but they will face tough competition to take top spot.

Previous winner Burrum Street Pharmacy will be a strong contender, but this year rival stores Eastside, West Bundaberg and Plaza will be vying for the title.

Epilepsy is the most common serious brain disorder and the stigma, discrimination and misconceptions about epilepsy can be worse than the condition itself.

Coral Coast Pharmacies are going purple to help Epilepsy Queensland raise awareness of epilepsy in the community, and by selling merchandise and displaying information.

Everyone can help by simply being aware of what to do if someone near you has a seizure or donate.
