Big fans of big fans at Isis High

Isis Town and Country - - News -

WITH a diameter measuring 5.5m, you would expect Isis District State High School’s new power foil fans to generate enough noise to be a serious distraction to students, or lift the roof clean off the stadium.

The massive fans were installed earlier this week, and to the surprise of deputy principal Andy Davey and P&C president Sandra Webb, they do neither. “This is amazing,” Mrs Webb said.

“This is used widely by the community. Netball, tae kwon do and few others use it. We had a lot of community support and it’s now more usable.”

Air away contractors Jai Orgill and Thad Steinohrt have installed several power foil fans across schools in Queensland.

Mr Davey said the installation would make conditions much more comfortable for students. He thanked the P&C for their pursuit of the project.

He said the school had previously costed the project but it was too expensive to fund itself.

Burnett MP Stephen Bennett announced $29,700 for the project in January.
