Meet your neighbours

Isis Town and Country - - News -

IN CELEBRATION of Neighbour Day on Sunday, Bundaberg Regional Council is calling on the region’s residents to join in and enjoy a morning of entertainment while getting to know their neighbours.

As part of a range of celebrations being held throughout the region, the movie Blue Hawaii, starring Elvis Presley, will be screened from 10am at the Paragon Theatre in Childers.

Community Services spokeswoman Cr Judy Peters said it was an opportunity for residents to celebrate what made their neighbourhood such a wonderful place to live.

“There’s no doubt that in today’s day and age, neighbourhoods and communities are less connected than they used to be so we’re encouraging all residents to re-establish those good old-fashioned neighbourly ties,” Cr Peters said.

Tickets for the movie are $10 and include morning tea and a lucky door prize. Doors open at 9.30am.

There will be buses running from Bundaberg and Bargara.

For information about bus times and to book, phone the Paragon Theatre on 0478 066 724.
