THE newly renamed Childers Rifle and Pistol Club has had consistent success in both Rifle and Pistol disciplines.

At the Norgrove/Sugar Coast Shield shoot held on March 8, 14 members from Childers and sister club Mundubbera travelled to South Kolan to compete in the second round of the 80-match Silhouette shoot.

Juniors Matthew Rayner, Callum Hickling, Josh Cockerton and Josh Ruane combined to win the John Jackson Junior Shield.

This is the first time in quite a while the club beat the very strong Gympie team.

Other winners were Dale Cockerton and Julie George (Julie 2).

The following week at the Bingera/South Kolan Prize Shoot, Anton Perk took out second prize in bench rest on both days, while Julie 2 and Dale again finished second in their respective grades.

Greg Tennent hit the big time on the weekend with a perfect score of 80 in the silhouette shoot.

An elated Greg was beaming with pride with his first-ever perfect score.

Hans Hummer junior did well at the Gold Coast Joan-Yet Foy Memorial Pistol Shoot. Hans broke grade with both scores, as he tallied 535 in sports pistol and 499 in air pistol.
