SAVING the life of a co-worker has earnt Gin Gin man Peter Krogh a Commendation for Brave Conduct in this year’s Australian Bravery Awards. On March 2, 2011, Mr Krogh and his colleague were returning to Marlborough, in Central Queensland, when they stopped at a flooded creek crossing. As they waited for other colleagues to arrive, Mr Krogh’s co-worker waded about 3m into the water to check the level to see if it was safe to cross. The man lost his footing and was dragged into the mouth of a pipe where the water was up to his chest. Mr Krogh grabbed hold of the man and, unable to pull him out, held on to him to stop him from drowning until help arrived.
