Schools embrace Anzac

Isis Town and Country - - News -

GOODWOOD State School will be in the thick of Anzac Day commemorations in Woodgate.

The small school will march with the photos of Isis’ fallen soldiers during the civic service, but it is the way they have embraced the Anzac spirit that stands out.

Goodwood has built a close relationship with St Thomas Aquinas School in Winton, New Zealand.

“We have a strong connection with the RSL and one of their members has a connection with the RSA (New Zealand’s Returned Services Association) in Winton,” Goodwood principal Steve Coleman said.

Among the plethora of Trans-Tasman activities is a memorial, which will be presented to the RSL, RSA and both schools at their respective Anzac Day services.
