Fly­overs set for Isis and Kolan An­zac Day ser­vices

A P-51D Mus­tang Fighter will grace An­zac Day skies af­ter spon­sor­ship from Bund­aberg Re­gional Coun­cil.

The fighter “Snifter” will con­duct 10 fly-past salutes for re­gional ser­vices, in­clud­ing those in Childers, Woodgate and Gin Gin.

The P-51 Mus­tang Fighter’s his­tory goes back to the Sec­ond World War, where it was used by the Al­lies as an es­cort for long-range bomb­ing raids.

Aus­tralian ser­vices took on the air­craft in 1945 and it was built in Vic­to­ria.

The Mus­tangs are sched­uled to fly past Gin Gin at 9.50am, Childers at 10am and Woodgate at 10.10am.
