Mustangs to impress
Flyovers set for Isis and Kolan Anzac Day services
A P-51D Mustang Fighter will grace Anzac Day skies after sponsorship from Bundaberg Regional Council.
The fighter “Snifter” will conduct 10 fly-past salutes for regional services, including those in Childers, Woodgate and Gin Gin.
The P-51 Mustang Fighter’s history goes back to the Second World War, where it was used by the Allies as an escort for long-range bombing raids.
Australian services took on the aircraft in 1945 and it was built in Victoria.
The Mustangs are scheduled to fly past Gin Gin at 9.50am, Childers at 10am and Woodgate at 10.10am.
