Isis Town and Country - - News -

ISIS RSL will mark Anzac Day with dawn services in Childers, Doobi, Apple Tree Creek and Cordalba.

RSL president Brian Terry said the public was invited to attend any of the four services, and the civic service in Childers at 10am.

“We acknowledge their endurance, their mateship, their love of country and their good humour. These are the hallmarks of Australian service men and women, past and present,” Mr Terry said. “To them we express our gratitude and our promise that we will remember them.”

The RSL will open at 8am on Saturday though Mr Terry said alcohol would not be served until after the civic service.

Childers Anzac Day parade will be led by light horse memorial trooper Chris Iseppi.

Isis RSL secretary Mel Hamilton said Mr Iseppi’s grandfather lied about his age to serve in the 10th Australian Light Horse Regiment in the First World War.
