A CAREER centre shifted to five-eighth for his club and was selected at fullback for representative rugby league.

Danny Moran’s path to the Wide Bay Rangers isn’t exactly a normal one but the 29-year-old gladly took his chance.

“You definitely get a breather at the back, which was good,” Moran said.

“I enjoyed it. I got my hands on the ball quite a bit and I preferred being able to get out wide rather than catching and passing (as five-eighth).”

His Northern District Bulldogs beat Central Burnett 50-6 in their first game, then fell 34-12 to South Burnett.

He played fullback for the first time for the Bulldogs, but played so well he was selected in the position for Wide Bay. Moran is one of 10 Northern Districts players in the Rangers side to travel to the 47th Battalion Carnival at Roma on May 2.
