Awaiting response

Isis Town and Country - - News -

AS MORE roads in need of upgrades pop up across the Isis there are two that can not be forgotten.

Isis Central residents spoke out in Town & Country on March 5 about the dangerous intersection where Adies Rd meets the Bruce Hwy.

They spoke of several crashes and near-misses at the site, which they said was dangerous due to a bend in the highway.

Motorists intending to turn into Adies Rd are hidden by the bend, and there were several instances where cars and trucks almost collided.

Burnett MP Stephen Bennett helped lodge a petition on that day, and this week said he was still to hear from Transport and Main Roads.

“The local regional director Scott Whittaker did meet with the residents and agreed it needed some attention,” Mr Bennett said.

“They have some flexibility for spending but we are waiting on more on that.”

The other case was at Bootharh Rd at Isis River, which featured on April 16.

Resident Frank Harris showed Town & Country how the road deteriorated during last Friday’s downpour.

Mr Harris continues to gather signatures for a petition, and said he had garnered “quite a bit” of support.
