Take a step back to the 1950s

Isis Town and Country - - News -

THE Wide Bay Whirly Birds will take Childers back to the 1950s next week.

Whirly Birds organisers Tracey Palmer and Madonna Ryan will run a “Back to the 50s” fundraiser on May 23 with a view to raise money for local helicopter rescue services, who are often needed for emergencies in both the Isis and Kolan regions.

Mrs Ryan said food, games and other activities synonymous with the decade would be on show at the Paragon Theatre.

“There will be a hula hoop competition, and we’ve got another one for the guys, which should be funny,” she said.

“All proceeds will go directly to the service, and we’ll be making sure all money raised in the local area is registered as having come from the Wide Bay.”

Bookings are essential and must be made by Sunday, with an entry list to apply at the $50-per-head event.
