Shows important to our towns

Isis Town and Country - - 2015 Childers Show -

THERE is always a sense of excitement this time of year as our regional annual shows come to town.

To our communities, the annual show means so much more than a cash injection in the local economy.

Our regional shows are an opportunity to unite communities and promote local achievements in livestock, produce, jam preserving, baking and more. Childers is no different. The Childers show encapsulates the qualities of the Isis community.

It is a chance to not only showcase your fine produce with pride but serves as a meeting point for the community to come together and catch up with old friends and reminisce over the good times.

Just like the district it represents, the Childers Show is an event saturated by rich history and has stood the test of time thanks to the dedicated volunteers behind the scenes.

The Childers Show would not be here today without the hardworking members of the Isis District PA&I Show Society.

I congratulate the show society for their tireless efforts and look forward to once again being a part of your great event this weekend.

I urge everyone to support your local show to ensure the event continues to thrive.

Together we can make this show bigger and better. Stephen Bennett MP Queensland State Member for Burnett
