Marquee proves a winner
Annual Gin Gin Show Ball attracts bigger crowd at different venue
THE Gin Gin Show Ball was held on Saturday, May 16.
This year, we tried something different – holding the event in a marquee attached to the function centre at the Gin Gin showgrounds to help try and capture more people to attend the event.
We had more than 240 people attend the ball, which was a fantastic effort for our town and the highest numbers we have had at the ball in many years.
The show ball is such an important event for our town as it provides one of the limited opportunities to not only dress up for a formal event but also where everyone from farmers to urban dwellers can all join together to relax and have a great night out.
This year, Theresa Williams was announced as our 2015 Miss Showgirl and Jessica McDonnell was announced as our Miss Showgirl runner-up.
Our Rural Ambassador for 2015 is Byron Bruggemann.
Jessica McDonnell was also awarded our highest fundraiser for 2015.
GREAT SUCCESS: The Gin Gin Show Ball was held on Saturday, May 16, in a marquee.
